Power Transmission and Distribution department provides
reliable and economical transmission of power
from electric power station to consumer, being as a sort of a system integrator,
equipment supplier of complex solutions and services. For power enterprises
high-tech solutions on the basis of informational technologies are offered:
network management software,
power sales and power balance management.
Part of the department's turnover is related to manufacture and systems,
equipped with electronics, information and communication equipment and
software. We also provide services, one of which is
service agreement signing with power
enterprises for the exploitation of power supply networks.
For high-voltage distributive systems — digital management modules
with the interfaces for connecting to mostly widespread
bus-bars, and for providing minimal losses of power to
large distances — innovative power electronic systems.
Department's sphere of activity includes high and middle voltage
distributive devices, continuous current transmission systems,
power protection and management systems, distributive and power
transformators.
A practical approach to climate protection
Siemens actively takes part in the prevention further climate change program and supports environmental friendly technology development and technical solutions. Above all, these are intelligent energy-saving solutions on different levels:
- Effective methods of power generation. Siemens offers gas and steam turbines and holds the world record in efficient electricity.
- CO2-neutral methods of power generation involve the use of wind, radiation from the sun, the heat of the earth and organic energy sources (biomass).
- Modernization existing systems.
- Decreasing energy loss when transporting electricity from the power station to the consumer.
- The use of energy-saving drive mechanisms in industrial production technology for reducing power requirements. Siemens offers detailed modernization concepts for drives and the associated automation and process control technology.
A modernization concept is drawn up together with the client. The resulting energy savings lead to a reduction in costs, so that the money saved can be used to finance modernization. The reduced costs can then be ploughed back into the client’s budget.
Performance contracting offers local authorities the chance to do their bit for the environment while at the same time saving themselves money as operators of public systems and facilities.
