The Hilton Molino Stucky is one of the most impressive hotels in Venice. Originally built in the 19th century as a flour mill, the hotel complex is located on La Giudecca Island and includes ten individual buildings accommodating 380 rooms and 45 suites.
Siemens was commissioned to modernize the hotel by designing a Total Building Solution (TBS) that could be used to fully integrate the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, fire alarms and intrusion systems as well as video surveillance technology.
This solution makes it possible to collect all building information at the click of the mouse, greatly relieving the workload of the operating and maintenance staff. The TBS technology also integrates voice-supported evacuation functions as well as control elements for the hotel telephone system, guest announcements and background music.
