18.04.2007 A current survey on behalf of the Financial Times (FT) accomplished
by the renowned British website analysts of Bowen Craggs & Co declares
the Siemens Corporate Website the world`s best company
website. The ranking – the “FT Bowen Craggs Website Index” – observes
and assesses the websites of the 60 biggest FT Global 500 companies.
In the ranking FT Global 500 the Financial Times lists the 500 biggest
companies, ranked by market capitalisation.
The Siemens website is ranking first with a total of 221 of 280
possible scores. The other top rankings were attained by the websites
of Royal Dutch Shell getting ranking number two (209 scores), BP achieving
ranking number three (207 scores) and Nokia with 203 scores accomplishing
ranking number four.
The speciality about the index is that all sectors and functions of the
corporate websites are taken into account. Besides the general criteria
“construction”, “message” and “contact” also the service value for the user
groups customers, investors, jobseekers, press and society influenced
the overall result directly.
The authors of the survey particularly emphasize the fact that Siemens
implements its messages perfectly with the new possibilities of the
medium internet like the integration of Google Earth into various subpages.
One example for this can be found on the Megacity-Website about Shanghai.
