11.11.2006 Siemens Building Technologies is the only company to have received simultaneously two of the prestigious Security Excellence Awards in the UK. The title of "Best Security Installer" was awarded in recognition of its contribution to the investigations following on the bomb attacks in London in July 2005. The award for "Best Customer Care Initiative" recognizes the in-house programs for improving services in connection with electronic security solutions.
Specialists from the Security Systems Division of the Building Technologies Group were engaged in the final phase of installing 3 000 CCTV cameras in ten London rail stations when the suicide attacks occurred on July 7, 2005.
The next day British Transport Police requested the project team to save and download the images recorded by 200 cameras and to provide twelve additional review suites for analyzing the video recordings with top priority. The image data were processed within eight hours and the review suites were ready for operation in four days. This rapid and efficient response helped the authorities to gain valuable time in their inquiries, and as we know, video recordings contributed to identifying the culprits.
The Security Excellence Awards have been organized by the "Security Management Today", "Security Installer" and "Platform" publications for the past eight years and have come to be regarded as the industry's "Oscars". The awards are always presented in the presence of hundreds of representatives from the world of security systems.
