This year – is the year of the 15th anniversary of the German Union and the 10th anniversary of the official presence of Siemens AG in Belarus on representative office level. It is possible to sum up the first facts generated by the new reality of the world – the world of united Germany and joined to the business community Belarus.
At the reception that has been given on the October 3 by the German Ambassador on the occasion of 15th anniversary of the German Union honorable place has been featured to Siemens AG. The Ambassador congratulated the Siemens Representative Office on its anniversary and pointed out that present reception has been hold together with Siemens AG as a sign of a partnership between the state and the economy. After that the Ambassador gave the floor to the Vice-President of Siemens AG in the sphere of economic regions of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Joachim Kundt, who, in his turn, totaled Siemens activity which has become apparent in realization of numerous projects, establishing of new contacts with partners and customers, steady growth of mutual respect and trust here, in Belarus. Just after Belarus has gained its independence Siemens has established firm contacts with local companies for further successful cooperation in the following areas:
- Information and communication technologies
- Energy
- Medical equipment
- Industrial automation
- Computer technologies
- Transport equipment.
It’s not an overstatement that without Siemens today’s telecommunication system would be impossible – not only all fixed networks (Beltelecom), but also mobile networks (Velcom and MTS) are provided by the Siemens equipment. The largest customers and clients in Belarus are: Mozyr refinery, Druzhba (Gomel), Druzhba (Novopolotsk), Naftan, power enterprises of Belarus: Belenergo, Minskenergo, Brestenergo, Vitebskenergo; Belarusian Steel Works, BelAZ, Atlant, Belkali, Belarusian railway etc.
Mutually beneficial cooperation is developing in the field of modernization of energy saving networks; modernization of electric power stations with effective turbines, generators and control systems; electrification and equipping railway lines with the alarm.
Today Siemens AG – is the only European enterprise, which is leading producer of the whole range of electrical engineering and electronics in the world. Annual turnover of the company amounts to more than ˆ 75 billion. ˆ 5 billion are spent annually for the innovations’ support, i.e. ˆ 20 million are spent on the development of new technologies and solutions every single day. It is not by chance that exactly Siemens has been entrusted to equip the new building of Belarus national library with the automation and life support systems production control facilities.
Quoting the Head of the Representative Office, as a giant tanker, whose maneuverability is provided by the “flotilla” of mobile partner firms, Siemens is heading in the ocean of the world’s business with confidence.
